While at the time of submission, the quality of life was only indirectly linked to the journal’s aims and scope, and the responsible co-editor believed that during the COVID period, a discussion on it would help the general physical health and nutritional status of patients.

Nevertheless, in order to make clear our journal’s basic aims and scope and to avoid similar observations of Clarivate in future, we decided to slightly modify the journal’s aims as follows.

Its expanded scope includes:

• Food engineering, food production, food management, and economic, environmental, and social sustainability of the food and nutrient industry and supply chain

We modify the above statement as under:

Its expanded scope includes:

• Food engineering, food production, food management, and economic, environmental, and social sustainability of the food and nutrient industry and supply chain
